Mr. Robert Rutherford Trout, 87, of 545 Chase High Rd., Forest City, NC, passed away Sunday, November 7, 2010. Services were held at Sandy Mush Baptist Church. Burial followed in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery with Military Honors by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
Mr. Trout served our country in the U.S. Army, during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vangie Hutchins Trout; his mother, Ruth Drucila Walker Trout; 1 son, George Robert Trout; 2 brothers, J.K. Trout and Oliver Trout; and 5 sisters, Jeanette Gundrum, Annie Sue Edwards, Georgia Hall, Martha Shimp and Grace Windham.
He is survived by 1 son, Roger Trout of Forest City; 2 daughters, Peggy Dillingham of Rutherfordton and Pam Blice of Forest City; 6 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.
McKinney-Landreth Funeral Home, Cliffside, NC is serving the family.
