Robert Taylor, age 67, of Baxter Way, Forest City, NC, died Saturday, September 21, 2013 at his residence.
Robert was born November 25, 1945 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Lester Miller Taylor and Thelma Laughter Taylor. He worked in textiles most of his life and was of the Baptist Faith. He was always known as a man with a big heart and enjoyed playing baseball, bowling, golfing and fishing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Taylor.
Survivors include his life partner, Audrey Self of Forest City; two daughters, Roberta Gail Taylor of Florence, SC and Joye Elaine Taylor of Atlanta, GA; son, Michael Crump of Charlotte; two step-daughters, Angie Sutton of Clover, SC and Sherry Lynn Thompson of Coffeyville, KS; two step-sons, Donnie Self of Harris, NC and Ronnie Self of Baltimore, MD; three sisters, Sharon Robinson of Ellenboro, Kathy Taylor Nanney of Gilkey and Patricia Jane Taylor of Spindale. He was also survived by five grandchildren, Ashley Brook Crowder, Tanner Sutton, Donald Self, Devan Self and Josh Self; two great-grandchildren, Ayden Self and Mason Self.
A private memorial service will be held.
