Robert Willard Harris, 84, of Forest City, entered heaven on Tuesday, March 3, 2015. Robert was the son of the late Wade and Roberta Harris. In addition to his parents, his brother; Donald Harris; his sisters Elsie Harris, Aldaree Harris, Vera Kimbrell, and Vivian Blanton; his first wife Lillian Harris and infant son Ronnie Michael Harris; his second wife Gwendolyn Harris, preceded him in death.

Robert loved God, and celebrated his family gathered in heaven. He was a member and Deacon of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. He served the Sandy Mush Fire Dept. from 1970 to 2013, first as a Volunteer Fireman, then a board member. He retired from Sonoco (Crellin) Plastics in 1994. He also worked at AG Industries for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Harris, of the home; his children, Wanda Deaton & husband Doug of Mooresboro, Renee Jackson & husband Greg of Cowpens, SC, and Randy Harris & wife Susan of Forest City; grandsons, John R Harris and Ethan R Harris. He loved everyone and "adopted" Helen's family and many others into his life through His love. He especially loved the children. He had a gift of fellowship and laughter that encouraged everyone he met.

A Celebration of Life will be held beginning at eleven o'clock in the morning on Friday, March 6, 2015 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 397 Mt. Fireman Honors will be provided by the Sandy Mush Fire Department Honor Guard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at ten o'clock, at the church. The family will be gathered at the home of Randy and Susan Harris, 170 Rollins Rd. Forest City, NC 28043.

In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church 397 Mt. Pleasant Church Rd Forest City, NC 28043 or Hospice of Rutherford County, PO Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043. The family are eternally grateful for all of the love and kindness that has been shown to us. The Hospice staff went above and beyond to honor Robert. The greatest memorial for Robert will be to Know God's love personally and to Share Love with everyone.
