Roe “Red” Davis
Roe  “Red” Davis, 77, of 928 College Avenue, died Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013. 

Mr. Davis was born in Cherokee County, S.C., and served in the U.S. Army in the motor pool. He was owner and operator of Davis Racing, a self-employed mechanic setting up race cars, and was involved in racing as a crew-chief, mechanic and car owner.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Boyce Wilbur Davis and Maude Davis; and son, Doug “Doug Man” Davis.

He is survived by his daughters, Vickie Morrison and husband Rusty and Candy Ayers and husband Ricky, all of Shelby; sisters, Nina Davis and Muriel Mills and husband Sam, all of Shelby; ex-wife, Connie Davis of Shelby; grandchildren, Douglas Boyce “Little Man” Davis, Landon Morrison and wife Tosha, and Amanda Davis Norman and husband Justin; and great-grandchildren, Logan Morrison and Brayden Davis.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Cleveland Funeral Services & Crematory. At other times, the family will be at the home, 928 College Avenue, Shelby, NC 28152.

Funeral: 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel
