Roger Dale Jimison, age 50, died on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia. Born in Gaston County on December 10, 1968 he was the son of Mary Ruth Powell Jimison of Kings Mountain and the late Roger Glenn Jimison. Roger worked as a Heating and Air Conditioning Technician for a number of years. He was a member of the Baptist Faith. Roger enjoyed watching Pittsburgh Steelers and racing.

In addition to his mother, Roger is survived by Melanie Laughridge and husband Ed of Hudson; two sons, Joshua Jimison of Asheville and Justin Jimison of Shelby; a grandson, Cameron Laughridge; two sisters, Teresa Williams and husband Tim of Shelby and Rachel Jimison Mattox and husband Jeff of Lincolnton; two nieces Michelle Mertz and Elizabeth Winstead, and a nephew, Ben Mattox. and other nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at 2:00 pm at The First Wesleyan Church, 1542 Kings Road, Shelby with Rev. David Tesseneer officiating. The family will receive friends an hour before the service from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home to help defer funeral cost.
