Ronald Alan Carpenter

Mr. Ronald Alan Carpenter, 59, of Eaker Drive passed away, October 17, 2013.

Born in Mecklenburg County, he was a son of the late Hill Alexander Carpenter and Mabel Goodman Carpenter.  Ronald graduated from Burns High School, Lawndale, NC and received his BS in Accounting from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.  He had a passion for learning and desired to further his education, subsequently earning a Computer Science Degree from Gaston College.  Ronald greatly enjoyed his work as a Controller/Accountant for Tex-Mach, Inc. in Mayo, SC for the past 15 years; he was also previously employed with Textile Sales and Repair of Gastonia, NC for 21 years.  Ronald was a faithful and dedicated member of Waco Baptist Church, which he loved very much, and served as organist since 1983; he had a remarkable gift for music and was a tremendously talented musician.  Ronald was a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and served in many other capacities within the church; he was also Waco Baptist Church’s Capernaum President.  Ronald enjoyed his friends, neighbors and community involvement, sports of all kinds, electronics, construction projects, and spending time with his family.  He was an encouraging, devoted, and loving husband and father.

Ronald is survived by his wife of 33 years, Suzanne Grayson Carpenter; two daughters, Ronda Carpenter and fiancé, Adam Wagner of Lubbock, TX and Anna Carpenter of Greensboro; two brothers, Kenneth Carpenter and wife, Carolyn of Lewisville and Larry Carpenter and wife, Dena of Morganton; brother-in-law Gregory Grayson and wife, Kristine of Burlington. He is also survived by numerous other family members.

Visitation will be on Sunday, October 20, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM, Sunday at Waco Baptist Church, 262 N. Main St., Waco, NC 28169.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, October 21, 2013 at Waco Baptist Church with Dr. Harold Fite and Dr. Bill Lowe officiating.  The body will be placed in the church thirty minutes prior to the service.

Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Fallston.
