Ronetta Owensby Lackey took up residence in Heaven with her Savior, The Lord Jesus Christ on Tuesday, June 24, 2014.
Ronetta was born in Lynchburg, Virginia on March 8, 1965 and was the daughter of Ronell and Ann Owensby. She is a graduate of Broome High School in Spartanburg County, S. C. and Gardner-Webb University where she received
her Bachelor of Arts and Masters Degree. She was a career elementary teacher in Cleveland County for twenty-six years. Her love for her students was unsurpassed.
Surviving are her son, Taylor Lackey; her daughter, Savanah and husband Dustin Jones; Savanah and Taylor's father, Chris Lackey; Parents, Ronell and Ann Owensby; Sister Jenny and Husband Mike Warren; Nephews Hunter and Grant
Warren, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends Friday, June 27 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Polkville Baptist Church, 4214 Polkville Road (Hwy. 226), Polkville.
A service to celebrate her life will follow at 4 PM at Polkville Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Hamrick and Rev. Bob Rogers officiating.
The family will be forever grateful for the love and prayers of those for whom Ronetta esteemed and loved so highly.
