Ronnie Anthony “Bo Bo” Vinson

Mr. Ronnie Anthony “Bo Bo” Vinson, 55 of 119 Hamrick Ave. Apt. B, Boiling Springs, NC died Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. He was born on August 14, 1958 in Cleveland County to Mattie Bell Johnson Vinson and the late John Thomas Vinson.

Ronnie was a member of Lawndale First Baptist Church and was a 1977 graduate of Burns High School where he played basketball and football.  He was employed with IMC-Metals America for the last 11 years.

Ronnie was a funny, happy, lovable and generous person.  He enjoyed watching drag racing and Burns High School football, the Dallas Cowboys and North Carolina Tar Heels basketball games.  In addition, he loved the beach.

Left to cherish his memories are his mother, Mattie Bell Vinson of Lawndale; his children, Quincy Anthony Ross of Lawndale and Kenya Johnson Bennett (Chris) of Charlotte, NC; his granddaughters, Essence Kendalyn Johnson and Kamaya Chrishuna Bennett both of Charlotte; a brother, John Thomas Vinson, Jr. of Hickory, NC and a sister, Sandra Vinson Coats (Richard) of Lawndale; two nephews, Bricklin-Styles Jadarius Coats and Ajonte Jaryeus Coats both of Lawndale; a very long time friend who was like a brother, Michael “Buster” Sims of Lawndale; four uncles, James Grimes of Lawndale, Edgar Hugh Vinson, James Vinson both of Charlotte and James Henry Johnson of Lawndale; seven aunts, Gladys Perkins of Shelby, Thedorsia Lawrence (Paul) of Lawndale, Sheila Vinson Ross of Catawba, NC, Virginia Vinson of Charlotte, Opal Wells of IN, Lucy Vinson and Betty Clark (John) both of Lawndale and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2014 at 3:00 PM at Jones Tabernacle C.M.E. Church with Rev. William Scott officiating.  Burial will take place at the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 3:00 PM at the church and at other times at the home of his mother, Mattie Bell Vinson, 2855 Toney Rd. in Lawndale.
