Mrs. Rosa Mae Redman Parker, 74, of 620 E. Sanders Road, Shelby, NC, went home to be with her Lord, Monday, May 31, 2010. Services were held at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Shelby, NC. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Linner Mae Mellon Redmond; a son-in-law, Mike Ledford; 1 sister, Myrtle Griffin; and 1 brother, Walter Redmond.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Harrill Hampton Parker; 1 daughter,  Cindy Ledford of Shelby; 1 grandchild, Jessica Ledford; 1 brother, Everett Redmond and wife Vertie of Shelby; 1 sister, Joyce Mellon and husband Harold of Lincolnton; 5 brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gordon and Elizabeth Griffin and Lizzie and Richard Warlick, all of Shelby, Charles and Elizabeth Parker of Casar, Charlene and Bud Ramsey of Morganton, and Hilda and Floyd Hastings of Polkville; and a host of nieces and nephews.
