Rosa McFarland Robbins

Blacksburg -- Rosa McFarland Robbins, 92, of 265 Eds Road, passed away Sunday, January 6th, 2019, at Peak Resources in Shelby.

A native of Cleveland County, she was the widow of Jim Robbins and the daughter of the late Charlie and Frances Rosa White McFarland. Rosa retired from Park Yarn Mills, but her favorite job was being a wife and mother. She was a very faithful member of Eastside Baptist Church for many, many years. Anytime there was a church function or a death in the church, you could count on her to help make sure everyone was fed.

Surviving Mrs. Robbins are four daughters, Rosa Lee Moore, Kathleen R. Sisk, Diane Kirkpatrick and husband, Richard, and Jill Harrison and husband, Randy, all of Blacksburg; seven grandchildren, Loretta Byars of Blacksburg, Faron Dale Sisk of Cherryville, Jimmy Dean Moore of Blacksburg, Crystal Atkins of Blacksburg, Tammy Wilson of Gaffney, Erica White of Blacksburg, and Steven Harrison of Blacksburg; nine great-grandchildren, Ashley Byars Allen, JD Moore, Megan R. Byars, Arron Moss, Taylor Moss, Marissa Atkins, Madison Atkins, Cameron Wilson, and Blake Harrison; and one great-great-grandson, Lucas Allen.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Robbins was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Claudia Marie Sisk.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 9th, 2019, from 2:00 - 3:00 PM at Eastside Baptist Church. Funeral services will immediately follow at 3:00 PM with Rev. Eric Sellers and Rev. Virgil Hampton officiating. Interment will be at Clingman Memorial Gardens. Arron Moss, Faron Sisk, Jimmy Moore, Blake Harrison, Steven Harrison and Cameron Wilson will serve at pallbearers.

The family will be at the home of Jill Harrison, 293 Eds Road, Blacksburg.
