Mr. Roy Clyde Carroll, 86, of 1021-A Leisure Leigh Lane, Cherryville, NC passed away Monday, December 27, 2010. Services were held at Stamey Funeral Home Chapel, Fallston, NC. Burial followed in Arlington National Cemetery.

Mr. Carroll served our country in the U.S. Navy–WWII–Chief Petty Officer.

He was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Betty Wright Carroll; his parents, William Edgar Carroll and Maude Conner Carroll; and 2 brothers, J.L. and William Carroll, Jr.

He is survived by his 2nd wife, Lounez Hayes Carroll of Cherryville; 1 son, Robert J. Carroll of Las Vegas, Nevada; 2 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Billy Carroll of Lexington, KY and Jimmy Carroll of Lawndale; and 2 sisters, Margaret Morton of Shelby and Jo Ann Harmon of Kings Mountain.
