Roy James “Jamie” Rucker,

Roy James “Jamie” Rucker, 47, of 305 Gardner St., passed away Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2011, at his residence. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son, of Tommy and Shirley Rucker and Patricia Long Hambright. He was a member of the 878 Engineer Battalion in Kings Mountain; he was a guard at Charlotte Douglas Airport during 9/11 and then went on to work in the shop at the airport for the US Military. He is preceded in death by one brother, Dwayne Rucker and his grandmother, Gladys Rucker. He is survived by his wife Lesia Grigg Rucker of the home; two sons, Casey Rucker of Florida and Calab Etters of Kings Mountain; three daughters, Haley Rucker, Meghan Etters, and Johnna Etters all of Kings Mountain; his grandfather, Crawford Rucker of Kings Mountain; one granddaughter, Adellyn Etters; also his father and mother-in-law, Carl and Jackie Grigg, sister-in-law and husband, Kelli and Trent Whitley; brother-in-law and wife, Jamie and Aundria Grigg; step brother, Randy Hayes, and uncle and aunt, Bobby and Lisa Rucker. Visitation: The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Sunday at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home, Kings Mountain Funeral Service: 2 p.m. Monday at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home, Kings Mountain Officiated By: The Rev Michael Chambers Interment: Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery with Military honors Funeral Home: Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Kings Mountain Memorials: Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Rd., Suite 300, Jacksonville Fl. 32256.
