Blacksburg - Roy Steven Martin, 62, of 313 West Carolina Street, passed away Monday, December 17, 2018 at his residence.

Born in Gaffney, Steve was the husband of Karen "Sissy" Hampton Martin and the son of the late Roy Ray Martin and Louise Wilson Martin. He was a mail carrier for the US Postal Service and a member of Eastside Baptist Church. Steve loved his family and his granddaughters and his church family. He loved singing and all the people on his mail route.

In addition to his wife, Steve is survived by one son, Jason "JP" Martin (Laura); three granddaughters, Maranda Martin, Jaelyn Martin, and Kara Martin; one brother, Terry Martin (Theresa); one sister, Kay Brown (Johnny Mack); one sister-in-law, Sharon Martin; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ronnie Martin.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Eastside Baptist Church, 1282 East Cherokee Street, Blacksburg, SC. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 3:00 pm at Eastside Baptist Church. Bo Reynolds, Clay Cole, Alex Hampton, Bobby Collins, Billy Joe Cobb, and Roger Poole will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Hope, Randy Beam, Chris Allen, Johnny Mack Brown, Rev. Jacob Mullinax, Johnny Randall, and Mike Patterson.
