Mrs. Ruby Bright Walker, 83, of 406 Gardner Street, Shelby, NC, passed away Monday, August 16, 2010. Services were held at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel. Burial followed in Sunset Cemetery.
Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her husband, Charles William “Bill” Walker; her parents, Ivey Bright and Lishey Byars Bright; and 5 brothers, James, Wilbert, Dean, Glenn and Russell Bright.
She is survived by 3 sons, Steve Walker and wife Donnis and Johnny Walker and wife Janet, all of Shelby, and Ronnie Walker of the home; 3 daughters, Debbie Cogdell and husband Clifford of Lattimore, Janice Cartee and Lisa Walker Brown, both of the home; 3 brothers, Max, Bob and Bill Bright, all of Forest City; 1 sister, Jackie Fisher of Forest City; special friend, Sherry Davis of Shelby; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
