Ruby Hipp Smith, age 91, resident of Kings Mountain, NC passed away April 28, 2014 at White Oak Manor, Kings Mtn. NC.  She was the daughter of the late E. J. Brown and Zora Gowens Brown.  She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph Hipp; daughter-in-law, Betty Jo Hipp; and sister Essie Campbell.  She was a member of Christian Freedom Baptist Church and retired from the textile industry. 

SURVIVORS: Sons: Jim Hipp and wife Eleanor, Gaffney, SC; Terry Hipp, Kings Mtn. NC; Brother: Dr. Ed Brown; 5 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchidren, and 6 Great Great Grandchildren.                        

FUNERAL SERVICE: Christian Freedom Baptist Church, Thursday, May 1, 2014;  3:00 P.M.  Rev. Mike Chambers and Rev. Sam Snyder, officiating.                                                

VISITATION: 2:00 – 3:00 P.M. Thursday, May 1, 2014 prior to the service in the sanctuary of Christian Freedom Baptist Church.

INTERMENT: Little Mountain Baptist Church, Wellford, South Carolina
