Ruby Ida Neill Eaker, age 90, of Harrilson Road passed away Sunday, October 30, 2016 at her residence. She was born March 4, 1926 in Cleveland County to the late Marcus Zone and Mattie Earl Moore Neal. Ruby was a wonderful homemaker and was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading and working on the farm grading tomatoes, apples, squash and peaches.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Quentin Lloyd Eaker; brothers, Giles Neill, Beauford Neil, Charles Neal and Thomas "Babe" Neal.
She is survived by her children, John Q. Eaker, Sr. and wife, Tooter and Carolyn Brown and husband, Bob all of Cherryville; grandchildren, Chris Brown, Susan Goins, Joseph Brown, John Q. Eaker Jr., Marcus Eaker, Charles Eaker and Bobby Johnson; great-grandchildren, Samuel Goins, Hannah Goins, Zachary Brown, Ashley Conners, Alisha Brown, Amanda Brown, Alexander Brown, Cheyenne Brown, Dakota Kennedy, Jesse Eaker, Brody Eaker, Bridgette Eaker, Evelyn Eaker, Payton Eaker and Christian Eaker; great-great-grandchildren, Bailey Conners, Noah Conners, Acadia Kennedy and Heather Johnson; and brothers, Johnny Neil and wife Teri and Gerald "Chick" Neill and wife, Sue.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 3, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Bethlehem United Methodist Church with Pastor Bill Taylorofficiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services.
