Ruby Mae Whittle, 96, 1476 Blacksburg Highway, Blacksburg, SC, went home to be with the Lord December 3, 2016, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, Spartanburg, SC. Born in Cherokee County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Jim and Viola Wisher Mullinax. She was retired from the textile industry and was of the Baptist faith. She loved gardening, fishing and canning.
She is survived by her son, Ben Weaver, and her daughter, Nellie Green, both of Blacksburg, SC; five grandchildren - Ronnie, Ricky, Jennifer, David and Lee; four great-grandchildren - Thomas, Adam, Bryan and Nikki; and three great-great-grandchildren - Kayleigh, Harley and Olivia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings - Minnie Hannon, Carl Mullinax, Grady Mullinax, Forest Mullinax, Roy Mullinax and Clyde "Doc" Mullinax.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6-7:30 PM, at White Columns Funeral Service. A Celebration Of Life Service will be held Tuesday, December 6, 2016, 2:30 PM, at White Columns, with Rev. Grady Gregory officiating. Burial will follow at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery. At other times, the family will be at their respective homes.
Pallbearers serving are Jimmy Mullinax, Johnny Mullinax, Bryan Humphries, Greg Putnam, C. W. Davis and Mark Mullinax.
