Ruby Mae Wright Carpenter, 83, of 928 Mary's Grove Church Rd. in Kings
Mountain died Saturday October 15, 2011 at Summitt Place in Kings Mountain.
Born May 11, 1928 in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late Floyd
Wesley Wright and Mary Fannie Huffstetler Wright. She retired from Loray
Baptist Church in Gastonia where she served as a secretary. She was a member
of Bethlehem United Methodist Church and also volunteered for the Cleveland
Rutherford Kidney Association. She was the organist for Mary's Grove United
Methodist Church for fifty years and also Bethlehem United Methodist Church
for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey
Hardin Carpenter, one brother, Bill Wright and one sister, Pauline W.
Putnam.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Ray Dean and Roxanna
Carpenter of Kings Mountain, one grandson, Travis Ingle, two sistesr-in-law,
Virginia Sherlin and husband Alvin of Shelby and Bernie Carpenter of
Gastonia, one nephew, Stephen Putnam of Myrtle Beach, SC and two nieces,
Jackie Ring and Brenda Warlick.
The funeral service will be at Bethlehem United Methodist Church Monday
October 17, 2011 at 4:00PM with the Rev. Roy T. Byers officiating.
Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service.
Burial will follow at Mary's Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery.
