Ruby Mozelle Sain Cooke, age 94 of Carlton Dr. passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Carolina Care Health & Rehabilitation. She was born July 14, 1924 in Cleveland County to the late Samuel Hartsell and Vernie Virginia Brittain Sain. Mozelle retired after 43 and a half years from the Carlton Mill. She enjoyed going on walks and loved going out to eat and socializing with her friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Paul Cooke; son, Gary Cooke; grandson, Ronno Cooke; and fourteen late brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her son, Ronald Paul Cooke and wife, Linda of Cherryville; grandson, Rahn Cooke and wife, Kim of Lincolnton; great grandchildren, Veronica Cooke, Hannah Honeycutt, Christopher Cooke (Kristine), Zachary Cooke, Kailey Cooke; great-great grandchildren, Ethan Baxter, Zane Baxter, Avrie Spencer, Raylee Honeycutt and Mason Bennett; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 22, 2018 at 4:00 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services with Rev. Dr. Bill Lowe officiating. Burial will follow at City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 3:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
