Ruby Wright Young, passed away quietly in her home on Sunday evening, April 12, 2015 surrounded by family and friends. A native of Cleveland county, she was proceeded in death by her husband Raymond Young, and her parents Charlie and Margaret Ware Wright. Ruby was also preceded in death by her siblings, Broadus, Joseph, Virgil, Graham, Spurgeon, Ruth, Horace, Mary (Nell) and John. Ruby served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

She graduated from George Washington University, in Washington D.C., and retired from Washington State University as a Graduate Program Coordinator, while there, she earned a Master's Degree.

She is survived by two daughters, Raven Young and Runell LaPlante and husband Jerry, all of Shelby; grandchildren Anthony Gallina and Asti Gallina of Washington State; sister, Lois Mason of Madison Heights, VA.

She was deeply loved by her family and many friends and will be missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends Saturday, April 18, 2015 from 2:00pm - 4:00pm at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory. A private burial will be held at a later time.
