Ruth Foust Hill, age 96 died Thursday July 25, 2013 at Peak Resources in Shelby. Born in Guilford County on August 16, 1916, she was the daughter of the late John Quincy and Laura McGee Foust. She was a member of First Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, C.J. Hill; a brother, Bernard Foust; and a son-in-law, Tom McCarver.
Mrs. Hill is survived by two daughters, Nancy Kennedy and husband Woody of Shelby and Betsy McCarver also of Shelby; a brother, Bill Foust of Anderson SC; a sister, Margaret Moreland of Greensboro; three grandchildren, Lynn Hicks, Meg Earley and husband Scott, Ashley Rinehart and husband Chad; and seven great grandchildren, Haley Arrowood, Hunter Hicks, Britt Earley, Bryce Earley, Mary Emma Rinehart, Laura Rinehart, and Edson Rinehart.
Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday July 27, 2013 at 1:00pm in the chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Tony Tench officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. A private burial will be held at Sunset Cemetery.
