Ruth Horton Dysart

Ruth Horton Dysart, 93, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC. A native of Rutherford County, she was born on August 21, 1924, daughter of the late Albert and Emma Horton. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Yates Dysart. Seven sisters, Winnie Hawkins, Eula Chambers, Mary Walker, Pauline Horton, Annie Jones, Genell Hutchins and Elaine Terry and three brothers, Ray Horton, Fay Horton and Max Horton, also preceded her in death. She was a selfless and loving mother and grandmother and devoted to her whole extended family.

Those left to cherish her memory include one daughter, Lynn Doggett and husband Mark, three grandsons, Joshua Doggett and wife Kelsey, Jordan Doggett and fiancé Kathryn Sanderson and Jonathan Doggett, one granddaughter, Anna Ruth Doggett and fiancé Connor Saieed, four great grandchildren, Gabriel, Noelle and Grace Doggett and Brickson Wyndam, one sister-in-law, Aileen Morehead, one brother-in-law, Wilbert Hutchins and many nieces and nephews who loved her very much. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Mama's caregivers, Joyce Hardy, Jeri Capps and Demetra Campbell, who were like family to her.

The family will receive friends at Eggers Funeral Home on Saturday June 16, 2018 at 2:00 pm, followed by the funeral service at 3:00 pm with Gary Walker officiating. After the funeral service, the graveside service will be at Drury Dobbins Baptist Church.
