Ruth Jean Martin Padgett 99, went to her heavenly home Thursday July 11, 2018 at Fair Haven Home of Bostic. Born in Rutherford County she was the daughter of the late Joe Martin and Luna Sparks Martin. She was also preceded in death by her husband Paul Padgett. She was a retired teacher and the longest living member of Ellenboro Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by two daughters; Amelia Richards and husband Dale of Mooresboro and Joanna Graves of husband Mark of Ellenboro. Six grandchildren; Greg Ledford, Phillip Ledford, Richie Boyles, Michael Weast, Steven Weast, Alison Smith. Ten Great Grandchildren; Stephen Cooke, Jessica Smith, Ashley Ledford, Jacob Smith, Tyler Weast, Taylor Ledford, Spring Ledford, Lilli Peterson, Christopher Guffey and Grayson Guffey. Six Great Great Grandchildren; Liam Cooke, Levi Cooke, Maysen Mobley, Huntley Smith, Bryson Horton and J. J Smith.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers Audley Martin, and Martin Martin, three sisters; Rachel Mortimer, Luna Jo Huntley and Alpha Martin and one grandson: Chris Guffey.

A celebration of her life will be held Sunday July 15, 2018 at 2:00 Pm at Eggers Funeral Home of Cliffside, 4076 Hwy 221 A, Cliffside, with Rev. Sam Henderson officiating. At other times the family will be at their respective homes.
