Ruth Jenkins Dellinger
Ruth Jenkins Dellinger, age 90 of Will Kiser Rd died Friday morning, November 28, 2014 at Robin Johnson Hospice House.  She was born on May 8, 1924 in Gaston County to the late Lee Andrew and Essie Vivian Mauney Jenkins.  Ruth graduated from Tryon High School in 1942.  She was a member of Hephzibah ARP Church.  Ruth previously worked in textiles and was a dark room operator for Wallace Business Forms.  She then later worked as a CNA.  Mrs. Dellinger was married to Louie Dellinger for 39 years before his death in 1981.  She loved to care for others.  Ruth was very fun loving and truly enjoyed life.  She loved to bake cakes and work in the yard and flower garden.  In her early years, Ruth helped Louie farm, pick cotton, and drive the combine.  She enjoyed traveling and taking trips with her family to the beach and the mountains.  Ruth loved her Lord and all the beauty He created on this Earth for her to enjoy. 
 
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louie Dellinger; and brothers, Hunter Jenkins and Henry Lee Jenkins.
 
Survivors include her daughters, Barbara D. Dellinger of Cherryville, Mary Ann Rhodes (Daniel) of Lincolnton, and Vickie Homesley (Larry) of Kings Mountain; grandchildren, Michael Dellinger (Amy) of Cherryville, Cale Dellinger of Lenoir, and Jacob Rhodes (Miriah) of Lincolnton; step-granddaughter, Lori Homesley of Bessemer City; great grandchildren, Anna Dellinger and Louis Rhodes; step-great grandchildren, Kayla Homesley, Laci Bell, and Kori Bell; brother, Raymond Jenkins (Joyce) of Clyde; sisters, Viola Dellinger of Bessemer City, Mozelle Eaker of Gastonia, and Ruby Tedder of Bessemer City; and several nieces and nephews. 
 
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, November 30, 2014 at 3:00 PM at Hephzibah ARP Church Cemetery with Rev. Leonard Bumgardner officiating.  The family will receive friends on Sunday, from 2:00 to 2:45 PM prior to the service at Hephzibah ARP Church Fellowship Hall.
