Mrs. Ruth Moss White, 91, of 1289 Shelby Hwy. passed away on Wednesday, August 15, 2013 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. White was born in Scotland County, NC on November 18, 1921 a daughter of the late Walter Graham Moss and Bessie Cunnigham Moss.  She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Cherryville and also enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting and her yard work.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Doffise Lee White, infant son and six siblings.

Survivors include a son, Gary C. White of Roan Mountain, TN; a daughter, Rita M. White of Cherryville; a grandson, Brian Foster and wife Jennifer of Lawndale; two great grandchildren, Allison Foster of Shelby and Joshua Foster of Lawndale; also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Friday, August 16, 2013 from 9:30 until 10:30AM at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home and at other times the family will be at the home.

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, August 16, 2013 at 11:00AM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Jerry Lail officiating.

Burial will be at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
