Mr. Samuel Boyd Putnam, 81, of 210 Hillcrest Street, Boiling Springs, NC, passed away Wednesday, June 30, 2010. Services were held at Boiling Springs Baptist Church. Burial followed in Cleveland Memorial Park. 

Mr. Putnam served our country in the U.S. Air Force.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Malcolm and Laura McSwain Putnam; 3 brothers, William, Jimmy and John Putnam; and 3 sisters, Inez Connor, Lena Baker and Jessie Wall.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jean Riva Putnam of the home; 1 son, Steven Boyd and wife Donna of Waxhaw; 2 daughters, Lori P. Lancaster and husband Tim of Shelby, and Cindy P. Evans and husband Phil of Greenville; 5 sisters, Diane Padgett and husband Barry and Della Walker and husband Harry, all of Lattimore, Joann Bridges and husband Morris of Ellenboro, Patsy Johannessen and husband Howard of Polkville, and Jeanette Faraby and husband Raymond of Greensboro; 4 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
