Sara Luna McDaniel Logan

Blacksburg -- Sara Luna McDaniel Logan, 89, of 427 Bluebird Lane, passed away Tuesday, May 17th, 2016, at Mary Black Health System - Gaffney.

Born in Blacksburg, she was the widow of John M. Logan and the daughter of the late James Lawson McDaniel and Pearl Diane Cashion McDaniel. Mrs. Logan retired from textiles and was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church. Mrs. Logan was also able to live independently in her own home despite having contracted polio as a child. Sara was an inspiration to all who knew her. She never complained about any of her physical limitations.

Even though Sara was not able to attend church for several years, she was still loyal to Hopewell Baptist Church. She was devoted to her family and friends.

Surviving Mrs. Logan is a son, John David Logan, of Blacksburg.

Along with her husband and parents, Mrs. Logan was preceded in death by three brothers, James, William, and A.Z. McDaniel; five sisters, Bessie McDaniel, Evelyn McDaniel, Eva Allen, Mary Floyd, and Lois Broome; and a special aunt, Ethel Wisher.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 19th, 2016, from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm at Gordon Mortuary. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 20th, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Hopewell Baptist Church with Rev. Eddie Bolin officiating. Interment will follow in the Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery. Gary Floyd, Terry Floyd, Ronnie McDaniel, Tony McDaniel, and Tracy McDaniel will serve as pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to Hopewell Baptist Church Building Maintenance Fund, 511 Old Chester Road, Blacksburg, SC 29702.

The family will be at the residence.
