School Prayer Walk Sunday, August 22
Intercessory prayer is a biblical priority. Our children, our schools, our community, our county, our state, our nation, and our world need our prayers. How powerful if we as Christians come together at the same time and pray for a specific thing. There will be community opportunity for prayer on Sunday, August 22 from 5 until 5:30pm.

NEEDED: “Prayer Leaders” for each of the 30 Elementary, Middle, and High Schools. If we get enough volunteers we can also include the three (3) Administrative Offices.

 A “Prayer Leader” will:

1.  Encourage members of your church and community to take part.

Call the newspapers and have the place, time, and dates listed in the faith section. Maybe we will have 30 different listings.

Make an announcement at your church, call other churches in your community and have it put in their bulletin.

Encourage school board members, school administrators, friends, neighbors, employees, co-workers etc. to get involved.

2.  Enlist volunteers (Other churches in your community, Sunday school classes, prayer groups, youth, brotherhood, etc.)

3.  Pick a place at the school to begin the Prayer Walk. The afternoon of the Prayer Walk arrive early and set up in a visible place to give out the enclosed “Prayer Walk” sheet. We have permission from Cleveland County Schools. An announcement will be made to the principals and faculty.

4. Make arrangements for someone to begin with an opening prayer (ask for prayer requests).

5. Ask those present to gather back at a specific time and have a closing prayer. (Most “Prayer Walkers” last year gathered in a circle and held hands for the closing prayer.)

If you are willing be a “Prayer Leader” for a school please call or email as soon as possible 704-482-8512 cowboyplace@bellsouth.net (Sandy Melton), 704-487-0509bcamey@hotmail.com (Beth Cameron), or 704-481-0332 mdblanton@clevelandcountyschools.org. (Molly Blanton)
