Mrs. Sharon Martin, age 59 of Grover, NC, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Catawba Valley Hospice House, Newton. Memorial services will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel conducted by Dr. Dwayne Pearson. Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:30 PM Monday, October 27, 2014 at the Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel.
She is survived by her husband, Gregory Martin of the home, a daughter, Rosa Russell (Charles) of Maiden, NC, three sons, Joe Fulbright (Tracie) of Hickory, NC, Jason Martin of Oshkosh, WI and Andrew Martin of Seattle, WA, four grandchildren, Luke, Savannah, Lyndsie, and Emma, two sisters, Janet Finley (Mark) of Boiling Springs, NC and Sandy Hammett (Larry) of Boiling Springs, NC and a brother, Steve Matthews (Robert) of Montclair, NJ.
Born June 11, 1955 in Burlington, NC, Mrs. Martin was the daughter of the late Milton Stewart and Charlotte Christine (Rector) Matthews and was preceded in death by a son, Nathan Fulbright. Sharon was a strong advocate for individuals with special needs and a breast cancer survivor. She founded an AFL home and has been the care taker for Robbie and Joel for the past couple of years. Her greatest love was her family and especially her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her generosity to those in need.
