Sharon Toney Newton, 62, of Campfield Church Road, Ellenboro, died on Friday, January 17, 2015 at Mission Hospital Memorial Campus of Asheville. She was born on March 14, 1952 a daughter of the late Grady Toney and Mary Louise Luckadoo Toney. She was a homemaker and member of Campfield Memorial Baptist Church. She worked in the church nursery for 25 years, taught Vacation Bible School, Mission Friends and sang in the church choir. She always thought of others before herself.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Dr. Eddie House, MD. She is survived by her husband, Lemmie Newton, Jr.; two sisters, Betty T. Davis and husband B.J. of Rutherfordton and Gail T. House of Greenville, SC; 2 nieces, 1 nephew, 2 great nephews, and 1 great-great nephew.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm on Monday, January 19, 2015 at Campfield Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Scott Huffman and Rev. Joey Cantrell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00pm-3:00pm on Monday, January 19, 2015 at Campfield Memorial Baptist Church.
