Sheila Barnett Mathis, 72, of Lawndale, passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at her home with her loving husband by her side.

Born in Cleveland County, on March 10, 1951, she was a daughter of the late Walter Henry Barnett and Lottie Lou Jones Barnett. She was retired from Doran Textiles and was a member of Normans Grove Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sherry Marie Mathis; four brothers, Bob Barnett, Bate Barnett, Doug Barnett, and Charlie Barnett and a sister Betty Carter.

She was survived by her husband of forty-five years, Ray Mathis and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Norman's Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Chris Decker officiating.

The family will greet friends immediately following the service.
