Mrs. Sheila Burgess Beam, 68, of 3079 Ishmael Beam Road,
passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, March 29,
2016, at her residence.

"Mama Sheila" was born on September 30, 1947, in Catawba County, NC, a
daughter of the late Glenn L. Burgess, Sr. and Ruth Murphy Burgess of
Cherryville. She was retired from Burgess Daycare as co-director after 35
years and was an administrative assistant at Carolina Care Center of
Cherryville for 15 years. Mama Sheila was a member of First Baptist Church
of Cherryville. Mama Sheila was loved and cherished by everyone who knew
her.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Keith
I. Beam.

In addition to her mother, survivors include her two sons, Jason Beam and
wife Mona and Justin Beam; two grandchildren, Burgess and Quinnlyn Beam; a
sister, Darlene Mayhew (Ken); two brothers, Glenn Burgess, Jr. (Cindy) and
Woody Burgess (JoAnn) ; and sister-in-law, Brenda Poplin (Roger) all of
Cherryville. Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 1, 2016, from 4:00PM to 6:00PM at
Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home & Cremation Service.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mama Sheila will be held on
Saturday, April 2, 2016, at 11:00AM at First Baptist Church Cherryville with
Dr. Vince Hefner officiating.

The family will have a private graveside service at Mt. Zion Baptist Church
Cemetery.
