Sheila Ledford Cummings
SPINDALE - Sheila Ledford Cummings, 67, passed away peacefully at Carolina's Medical Center, Charlotte, on Tuesday, March 8, 2016. Born January 9, 1949, Sheila was the daughter of the late Edwards Yates Leford and the late Viola Harris Ledford, of Ellenboro. In addition to her parents, her husband, Danny Cummings, sister, Judy Ledford Blanton and son, Todd Fitch, preceded her in death.
Sheila was very tender hearted and extremely loyal to her family and friends. She had an infectious smile. She was an awesome encourager and could always find the words to lift you up when you needed it.
When Sheila was a young woman, she was the song and worship leader in her church and played the piano. She loved to sing "Now I Have Everything" and "Amazing Grace." Her favorite scripture was 1st Peter 5:7. During her lifetime, she spent time reading and studying scriptures. In the last days before Sheila passed, she rededicated her life to the Lord and received the promise of eternal life with her Heavenly Father.
Sheila loved to read, surf on her computer and love on her cats. She really loved to share photos online of her family, especially her two grandchildren, Andrew and Rachel. She always talked about how proud she was and how much she loved them. She also enjoyed spending time with her dearest companion, Bob Moore, whom she always talked about with such fondness.
Sheila is survived by her Daughter, Karen Fitch Theis and husband Brian; two extremely special grandchildren, Andrew & Rachel Theis; a very special companion, Bob Moore, and many other family and friends whom she loved very much.
A special graveside memorial service will be held at 2pm, on Saturday, March 26th,2016 at Elizabeth Baptist Church, 301 N. Post Road, Shelby, NC, officiated by Pastor Eddie Fitch. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall 1 hour prior to the service.
