Cornelius - Shelly Denise Hood, 38, formerly of Cherryville passed away on
Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at her residence.

Shelly was born in Gaston County on December 28, 1977 daughter of Pamela
Carrigan Hood of Gastonia. She was a member of First Baptist Church of
Cherryville and attended Elevation Church. Shelly was a 1996 graduate of
Cherryville High School. She obtained an Associates of Science Degree and
an Associates of Arts Degree from Gaston College and earned her Bachelor's
of Science Degree in Nursing from UNC Chapel Hill. She previously worked
for Carolinas Medical Center - Main in Charlotte and Lake Norman Regional
Medical Center.

Survivors include her mother, Pamela Carrigan Hood of Gastonia; a brother,
Sege Hood of Vale and a sister Kyndall King of Lincolnton; an uncle Ronald
Carrigan and wife Carla of Clemmons; four aunts, Deborah Hope, Anita Helms,
Lynne Hood and Susan Lingerfelt all of Cherryville.

Visitation will be on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at 1:30 to 3:00PM First
Baptist Church.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at
3:30PM with Mr. Jeff Tatem officiating.

Burial will be at City Memorial Cemetery.
