Mrs. Shirley Ann Spanger Greene, 75, of 6061 Green Farm Rd., Shelby, NC, passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2010. Services were held at Double Springs Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Greene was preceded in death by her parents, Eubert Bynum Spangler and Edith Beam Spangler; a niece; her father-in-law, Walt “A.W.” Greene; a brother-in-law, Hoyle Wright; a sister-in-law and special friend, Helen Dover Spangler.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Phillip Greene; 2 sons, David Greene and Shelby and Tom Greene and wife Tina of Des Moines, Iowa; 1 daughter, Phillis White and husband Joey of Shelby; 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Gene Spangler of Shelby; 2 sisters, Sara Spangler Greene and husband Albert of Shelby, and Eloise Spangler Wright of Shelby; her mother-in-law, Corene Greene of Shelby; 1 sister-in-law, June Carol Reichle and husband Paul, Jr. of Fayetteville; 4 brothers-in-law, Gilbert Greene and wife Nancy, Bobby Greene and wife Shirley, Randall Greene and wife Glenda, all of Shelby, and Henry Greene and wife Susan of Charlotte; a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and special friends from her Sunday School class at Double Springs Baptist Church.
