Shirley Jean Upton Wilson, age 67, died Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at Carolinas Medical Center-Cleveland. Born in Greenville County SC. on November 30, 1947 she was the daughter of the late George Williams and Doshia Ella Foster Upton. Shirley was a member of Faith Baptist Church and a breast cancer survivor. She worked for Rite Aid Drug Store on Marion Street for the last 20 years and formerly for Doran Mills. Shirley loved God and was an example of love to all that she met. She was a loving mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a grandson, Benjamin McFarland.

Shirley is survived by two sons, Roger Wilson of Shelby and Chad Wilson and wife Tristian of Shelby; a daughter, Gina Greene and husband David of Shelby; a sister, Frances Lewis of Forest City; and six grandchildren, Zoie Fisher, Dawson Wilson, Matthew McFarland, Jacob McFarland, Peyton Wilson, and Madison Bryant.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday October 13, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Faith Baptist Church with Dr. Barry Goodman officiating. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Monday October 12, 2015 from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory; and at other times at the home of Chad and Tristian at 3216 West Zion Church Rd.
