Shirley Kay Hamrick Arrowood Potter

Shirley Kay Hamrick Arrowood Potter, 81, of 605A Sugar Hill Road, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at Atrium-Cleveland in Shelby, NC.

Born in Boiling Springs, NC, she was first married to the late Richard (Buddy) Arrowood, the widow of the late William Barry Potter, and the daughter of the late Raymond Leander Hamrick and Eula Mae Humphries Hamrick. She retired from Kemet and Ingles and a lifelong member of Camps Creek Baptist Church where she was also a choir member. She loved her family, the beach, going out to eat, and cooking for others.

Surviving is a son, Todd Eugene Potter (fiancé Gina Davis) of Charlotte, NC; two daughters, Paulette Arrowood Wellmon (Randy) of Lawndale, NC and Shannon Potter Hovis (Jason) of Mooresboro, NC; three sisters, Modenia McCraw (Bobby) of Gaffney, Judy Mayfield (Roger), and Barbara Putman (Boyd), both of Mooresboro, NC; five grandchildren, Brandy Wellmon, Robbie Wellmon, Nicholas Hovis, Abbigail Hovis (fiancé Jordan Mayes), and Ashley Potter Mullins (Dalton); three great-grandchildren, Clarklynn, Mason, and Miles; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Jackie Hammett and Nancy Brown.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Camps Creek Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM at the Church with Reverend Steve Durham officiating. Interment will be in Cleveland Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Camps Creek Baptist Church, "Life Enrichment Center" in memory of Alan Cooper, 2318 Camps Creek Church Road, Mooresboro, NC 28114.

The family will be at their respective homes.
