Shirley King Clark

Mrs. Shirley King Clark, age 79 of Grover, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Testa Family Hospice House in Kings Mountain, NC.
She is survived by her children; Richard Clark and wife Linda of Shelby, NC, Keith Clark and wife Martha of Kings Mountain, NC, Terry Clark and wife Sherrie of Shelby, NC, and Sherry Clark Creech and husband Ron of Shelby, NC, grandchildren; Marisa Clark Bagwell and husband James, Natalie Clark, Brian Clark, Aaron Clark and wife Jessica, Dallas Creech, Austin Creech, Houston Creech and wife Chanity, Mattie Clark McMurry and husband Patrick, and Wesley Clark and wife Autum, great grandchildren; Bronson Creech, Ayden Creech, Griffin Bagwell, Ella Creech, Nolan Bagwell, and Charlie Clark, sisters; Peggy Amerto, Rena Benton, Joyce O'Sheilds and husband Richard, Jean Dellinger, and Jenny Harris, sister-in-laws; Linda King, Geraldine King, and Lois King, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Born February 11, 1937 in Cherokee County, NC, Mrs. Clark was the daughter of the late Prince Albert King and Icie Mae Harris King and was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Charles E. Clark, brothers; Wendell King, Walter King, Johnny King, and Danny King, sisters; Annie Mae Amerson and Agnus Mauney.
Mrs. Clark was a devoted wife and was committed to her family and her Lord. She was a member of Shelby Missionary Methodist Church and a former member of the Shelby Assembly of God. She was a gifted musician and loved to sing and play the piano with her family. Shirley was one of the first women to step out into the workforce as an entrepreneur. She was an independent business woman who owned and operated several businesses throughout her life. She enjoyed working in the flower garden where she inspired others to grow a garden and spending time with her family and friends. She will be truly missed by those that knew her.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 pm Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel. A visitation will be held from 1:00 - 2:30 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby NC 28150.
