SHELBY: Shirley Kiser Strickland, 80, died Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Testa Family Hospice House. A native of Cleveland Co., she was born to the late Ralph and Junie Collins Kiser. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and the Friendship Sunday School class. She had a great love for her church, family and grandchildren. The family would like to give a special thanks to the caregivers at Testa Family hospice House.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Thomas Strickland; sisters, Betty Whisnant and Hazel Allen; and brothers, Ralph Kiser, Jr., Lloyd Kiser and Bill Kiser.

SURVIVED: She is survived by her son John Strickland and wife Sharon of Shelby; daughters June Bennett and Husband John Mark of Forest City and Jill Eaton and husband Chris of Shelby; brother Ben Kiser of Shelby; grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth, Meredith and Matthew Bennett, Hannah, Seth and Gracie Strickland, and Casey and Haley Johnson.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends Sunday, August 13, 2017 from 3-5:00 PM at the funeral home

FUNERAL SERVICES: will be held Monday, August 14, 2017 at 12 noon at Bethel Baptist Church.

OFFICIATING: Dr. Timothy Sims

BURIAL: will be at Sunset Cemetery immediately following the service.
