Shuford Kirk Peeler Jr., 89, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on May 07, 2023 at his home. He was born in Stanly County, NC, son of the late Shuford Kirk Peeler Sr. and Katherine Mummert Peeler. He attended Charlotte City Schools and was a 1956 graduate of Duke University, receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry. He was past president of the Kings Mountain Kiwanis Club and Kings Mountain United Fund and was a Little League baseball coach and an assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 92 in Kings Mountain. He was an avid clockmaker and family genealogist. He was employed for 38 years by Foote Mineral Company at the Kings Mountain and Frazer, Pennsylvania locations and was in the Quality Control Department and later in the Research and Development Department at Kings Mountain. He was a veteran of the US Army Signal Corps and was stationed at Camp Zama, Japan and later was a member of the National Guard in West Chester, Pennsylvania.

Grandchildren: Michael Tyler, Lauren Ann, and Wesley Chase Mosier and David Sutton and Caitlin Alyse Peeler

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Mountain Rest Cemetery with Reverend Dr. John Sloan officiating

VISITATION: The family will speak with attendees immediately following the service at the cemetery

INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery
