Stanley Gene "Lefty" "Pete" Spake, 68, of 516 Dravo Road, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 1, 2017 at Mary Black Health System-Gaffney.

Born in Blacksburg, he was the husband of Patsy Weaver Spake for 46 years, son of the late Sarah "Tinnie" Spake Towery, stepson of the late James Towery, and was raised in the home of his uncle the late Emmanuel Spake. He retired from textiles, loved fishing, and was a member of Old Rugged Cross Baptist Church in Shelby, NC where he served as a deacon.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Darrell Spake of Blacksburg; a daughter, Vickie Parris and husband, Alan, of Blacksburg; two sisters, Peggy Griffin of Blacksburg and Frances Randall of Shelby, NC; three grandchildren, Chynna Parris, Rebekah Parris and Donovan Spake. He was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Spake.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 PM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jerry Allen and Pastor Kenneth Queen officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.

The family will be at the residence, 516 Dravo Road, Blacksburg.
