Start Your Engines for Safe Driving Class
The Council on Aging/Senior Center offers AARP’s Safe Driving Course several times a year. The classes will be taught by AARP trained Instructor, Mr. William “Bill” Boyd. The four hour class will be held at the Council on Aging/Neal Senior Center, located at 100 T.R. Harris Drive, Shelby, NC from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm on March 21, 2012.
The AARP’s Safe Driving Program includes a comprehensive curriculum designed especially for the older motorist.  Participants age 50 and above will refine existing skills and develop safe, defensive driving techniques.  Also included is a review on how to handle adverse weather conditions and traffic hazards as well as learn about the effects of aging and medications as it relates to driving.
For more information or to register for the class, please call the Senior Center Front Desk Receptionist at 704-482-3488.  There will be a fee of $12 for AARP members or $14 for non-AARP members to cover the cost of materials.
