Stella P. Goode, age 86, of Henrietta, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at the Oakland Living Center.
Born March 31, 1929 in Rutherford County, she was a daughter to the late William "W.A." Putnam and Lonna Penson Putnam. Stella worked many years as an LPN for Rutherford Hospital and was a faithful member of Henrietta First Baptist Church. She was actively involved in her church, serving on the pulpit committee and as a Sunday School teacher. Besides her strong faith and dedication to the Lord, she also enjoyed quilting. Stella had a generous and giving heart.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-three years, Jack Waters Goode; son, Thomas Alan Goode and daughter, Teresa Diane Goode Bowden. She was also the last survivor of thirteen children born to the Putnam's.
Survivors include two granddaughters, Emily Kathareine Bowden and spouse, Melanie of North Hampton, Massachusetts and Amanda Bowden Serafini and spouse, Jason of Charlotte; three great-grandchildren, Charlotte Anne Korden, Tobias Jack Korden and Hailey Diane Serafini.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at the Henrietta First Baptist Church with Reverend Mike Cash and Reverend Pete Bridges officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.
