Stephen Thomas Downs, 65, of 230 Turner Rd. in Casar died February 12, 2013 in Kentucky.
Born December 11, 1947 in Catawba County, he was a son of the late Roy Lee Downs and Hazel Tony Miller. He served in the US Army during Vietnam and was a retired assembly worker for General Motors.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-daughter, Shavonne Milam.
He is survived by his children, Thomas Gordon Downs & wife, Carla of Tiline, Kentucky; daughter, DeAnne Lee Downs of Detroit, Michigan; step- sons Christopher Ogrodowsky of Detroit, Michigan, William Milam & wife, Jessica of Casar, and Charles Milam of Louisville, KY; step-daughter, Shranda Milam of Almo, KY, two brothers, Jerry Downs and wife Margaret of Casar, and Eugene Downs from Dearborn Heights, Michigan, granddaughter, DeLaynee Jayne Downs, step grandchildren, Jamzine Rozycke, Alexa Milam, Mika Milam, Kayla Milam, Zayden Metzinger, Colin Milam, Carley Milam, Mariah Marie Ogrodowski, Devon Milam, and Zoey Compton.
Visitation will br from 2:00PM until 3:00PM Monday at Stamey Funeral Home
Graveside service will be 3:00PM Monday at Rose Hill Memorial Park
Memorials may be made to the Humane Society, 1219 Spring Drive, Shelby, NC 28150 will be greatly appreciated as animals was Stephen's greatest passion.
