Blacksburg -- Steve Vernon Wells, 76, of 208 Westmoreland Road, passed away Tuesday, October 6th, 2020, at his residence.

Born in York County, he was the husband of Dorothy Dover Wells and the son of the late Newton Earls Wells and Edna Biggers Wells. Mr. Wells worked in textiles.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Wells is survived by two sons, Johnny Wyatt and Steve Wells; two daughters, Shirley Jackson and Melisa Bailey; one brother, Roy Wells; one sister, Sarah Faulkner, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 9, 2020 from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm at Smyrna Baptist Church, 1613 McGill Highway, Smyrna, SC 29743. Funeral services will immediately follow at 3:00 pm with Rev. Danny Marshburn officiating. Interment will follow at Smyrna Baptist Church Cemetery. Terry Jackson, Johnny Wyatt, Mike Dietz, Travis Dietz, Zac Brackett, and Jerry Wallace will serve as pallbearers

The family will be at the residence of his daughter, Melisa Bailey, 215 Westmoreland Road, Blacksburg, SC.
