Steven Nicholas Thompson, age 63 of Mt. Holly, NC, formerly of Coram, NY, passed away Monday, December 14, 2020 at Atrium Health, Lincoln.

He was born August 26, 1957 in Queens, NY to the late Peter William Thompson and Joan Lamotte Thompson. He was a computer programmer for Emblem Health. Steven was an avid fan of the NY Mets and the NY Jets.

Survivors include his wife, Laura Ann Cabble Thompson; sons, Jason Thompson (Michelle Chamberlain) and Tyler Thompson (Noelle); grandsons, Lucas Anderson and Leo Thompson; brothers, Peter, James, and Kevin Thompson; and sister, Margaret Thompson Marshall.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, December 18, 2020 at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services in Cherryville. Mr. Thompson will Lie-In-State from 10:00 to 10:45 AM prior to the service at the funeral home. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, social distancing and face coverings will be observed.

Interment will take place at 1:00 PM Friday, December 18, 2020 at Evergreen Cemetery in Belmont.
