Mrs. Sue Barbara Allen Rayfield, 93, of 6409 Dallas-Cherryville Hwy., Cherryville, NC, passed away Friday, August 27, 2010. Services were held at Arrowood Baptist Church, Bessemer City, NC.
Mrs. Rayfield was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Hinkle Rayfield, Sr.; her parents, Miles Allen and Sloane Clark Allen; a son-in-law, Garland Fourshee; 3 brothers; and 1 sister.
She is survived by 4 daughters, Margaret Fourshee of Cherryville, Virginia Fields and husband Robert of Belmont, Inez Black and husband Howard of Rocky Mount, and Robin Wells and husband Nathaniel of Weddington; 2 sons, Hinkle Rayfield, Jr. and wife Carolyn, and Timothy Rayfield, of the home; 1 sister, Virginia Elmore of Crouse; 14 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
