Sue Gardner Heafner, 85, of 3311 Polkville Road, Shelby, passed away
Saturday, October 3, 2015 at her home.

Born in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late Harvey Max Gardner
and Lucy Wright Gardner. Mrs. Heafner was a graduate of Polkville High
School and retired as a supervisor with Cleveland County Health Department.
She enjoyed needlework, her family, and her church family at Union Baptist
Church , where she was a longtime member.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Heafner was preceded in death by her
husband, A.V. Heafner; son, Michael Heafner, and sister, Helen Warlick.

She is survived by daughter, Susan Wright and fiance Doug Drewery; brother
and sister-in-law, Hal and Brenda Gardner; sister and brother-in-law, Maxine
and Don Spangler all of Shelby;
granddaughters and their husbands, Ashley and Cale Conley and Brooke and
Brad Pearson; and great grandchildren, Abby, Ayden, A.J., Tye and Reagan.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 pm Wednesday at Union
Baptist Church in Shelby. A guest register is available at

Funeral services will be 3:00 pm Wednesday at Union Baptist Church with Rev.
Michael Shumate officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
