Sue Howard Murdock, 81, died Dec. 24, 2012 at Gaston Memorial Hospital. She was born in Denver, Lincoln County, on Jan. 13, 1931, a daughter of the late Mack D. and Bryte Mundy Howard. Sue was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and retired director of Economic Development for Cherryville, Lincolnton and Wadesboro during her career.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years Calvin J. Murdock, daughters Melissa Murdock of Monroe, NY and Leslie Murdock and husband Josh Grotstein of Park City, Utah, four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
A Memorial service will be held Wednesday at 6 PM at Carpenter’s Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Collins officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends Wednesday at the funeral home from 5-5:45 PM.
