Sue Self Carpenter, 89, of 5408 Seven Pines Road, Casar, died Thursday, May
26, 2011 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center in Shelby.
Born October 13, 1921 in Cleveland County she was a daughter of the late
Lester Q. Self and Peggy Queen Self. She was retired from Bernhardt
Furniture and was a member of Casar Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, O.T.
Carpenter, Jr.; a daughter-in-law, Carol Carpenter; two brothers, Ernest
Self and Lawton Self and sister, Lillian Cline.
Survivors: include two sons, Bobby T. Carpenter of Indian Trail and Larry
Self Carpenter, Sr. and wife, Nancy of Casar; four grandchildren, Susan
Hargett of Monroe, Rhonda Cassada and husband, Mark of Hillsborough, Dwayne
Carpenter of Waxhaw and Larry S. Carpenter, Jr. and wife, Angie of Lawndale;
nine great-grandchildren, Jacob, Jessica, Travis, Weston, and Bobby
Carpenter, Nicole and Ryan Cassada, Ryan Brown and Savannah Sherrill; one
great-great grandchild, Jadelyn Brown; and sister, Irene Dixon of Shelby;
and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM, Saturday, Stamey Funeral Home, Fallston.
Funeral Service: 3:00 PM, Sunday, Casar Baptist Church, Casar. The casket
will be placed in the church thirty minutes before the service.
Officiating: Rev. Travis Smith
Burial: Casar Baptist Church Cemetery
Memorials: In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Casar Baptist Church
